Flights
Depending on your budget and general feeling about air travel you have three options. Firstly you have the ìlow budgetî airline that will get you there but will treat you with less regard than cattle. The prices can be remarkably low if booked well ahead of time. The overall experience should be treated with the same distain as third class travel. Practical at times but you would really want to wash your hands afterwards.
The second option is to fly with one of the main carriers. The flying time will be the same but at more convent times of the day and to more respectable airports. The service and overall experience should be somewhat better.
The third option is private jet. Now I know you donít all have a fully fueled and crewed Lear on standby ñ and frankly these days who wants the bother? There is however a more straightforward option. There are a number of private hire companies who can fly you to your destination in total comfort. Think of the service as a 20,000-foot high limousine. A very worthwhile service for the luxury, security but mostly the flexibility it offers.
The point-to-point time is much quicker, with none of the usually hanging around or delays of a scheduled service.
Tip ñ Flying back to the UK after a dinner is entirely feasible due to the time difference between the two countries.
Personally I am a big fan of the private airport lounge (garishly word) just to have a quite area away from screaming children, tanoy announcements and the general clutter that is the modern airport.
